Her signature blend of crisp neutrals, bold accessories, and surprising pops of colour proves she’s mastered the art of standing out—without trying too hard.

In this week’s Muse, G catches up with Daisy to talk go-to outfits, wardrobe staples on heavy rotation, and the colours she never imagined she’d wear—until now.

What’s your current go-to outfit formula or a piece you’re reaching for on repeat this season?

Lately, I have been loving a trouser paired with a fitted tank or a good layering shirt and an interesting jacket.  I always gravitate towards clean, well-tailored and flattering basics as the base and then add interest with jackets, shoes, and accessories.

Who or what is shaping your style lately?

If I had to pick one word, it would be exploration. I have been on an interesting personal style self-discovery lately! I recently decided to give myself a blank slate on my preferences, and I have been approaching style with more curiosity and willingness to try things.  I feel inspired by movie characters, vintage pieces, and style icons.  There are some consistencies with what I have always liked, but I have also been surprised by what I like when I allow myself to be playful and experiment.

Since having your colours done, what’s been the most game-changing part? Makeup, wardrobe, or accessories?

The confidence and ease of shopping for a wardrobe when you know what colours to look for has been a game changer! You can’t control the lighting in dressing rooms or stores to know if a colour looks good on you.  I now take my colour swatches with me in the store, match them as best as I can, and then focus on the fit of the clothes in the dressing room.  I trust the colours that work for me, and it eliminates so much of the back and forth before deciding whether or not to purchase something.

Do you follow trends or find yourself sticking more to your own aesthetic now?

I am somewhere in between, but leaning more toward my own aesthetic.  Trends are good to add additional layers to a classic and timeless outfit.

What colours do you see making a big impact this Autumn/Winter…and which ones are you ready to leave behind?

That really nice burgundy colour is everywhere, and I’m not mad about it. What I predict will be a bigger thing than specific colours are specific colour combinations. That is something I want to explore more – new and interesting colour combinations. As far as leaving things behind, I’m ditching colours that aren’t flattering on me.

Your May outfit challenge has been so fun to follow! What’s that process been like has it shifted how you approach your wardrobe?

I started the challenge because I felt like I was in such a rut and uninspired with getting dressed. I wanted to hold myself accountable for being more intentional with getting dressed.  The biggest thing I have learned is that accessories really matter! Especially for me because I tend to go for more simple and clean pieces.  I also try to focus more on having at least three pieces in an outfit.  If I am unsatisfied with something I put on, it’s usually because I didn’t put enough on. I need another layer, some accessories, and a little pizzazz.

Has getting your colours done changed how you approach putting a look together, especially when it comes to colour and balance?

As I am phasing in colours that are in my season and phasing out ones that aren’t, I try to focus on putting my best colours closest to my face. Black, for example, is not in my colour palette and is very hard to phase out. I try to keep the black to the bottom half of my body or just as a jacket and then bring in my best colours in a shirt.  I also find that makeup plays a significant role in the overall balance of colours.  If I focus on good places and soft summer colours on my face, I have a lot more flow and balance everywhere else.

What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting to define their personal style?

Step one is to forget everything you think you like or think you should like about style. We often have a very skewed idea of who we are in our minds, and it can be quite limiting. Step two is to gather inspiration from all kinds of sources. Screenshot it, take a photo, and save it on Pinterest. I’m a big fan of moodboard! And lastly, allow yourself to be playful and make mistakes. Getting dressed really isn’t life or death. It’s not that deep. Try something new! If you hate it in a few hours, you can change. Sometimes, I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to get it right the first time.

If someone is stuck in a black-and-white rut, what would you say to convince them to give colour a chance?

Color can have a huge impact on mood and energy, so if you are intimidated by the look of something, focus on the feel of something. I also think it’s kind of addicting to find your best colours, and once you see what a difference it makes and how much life it can bring into your face, it’s hard to forget!

What is a colour you never thought you’d wear… but now love?

I was very against silver for soooo long. I was convinced it would make me look green! But since changing my hair colour and wearing colours in my palette, I am so much more drawn to silver jewellery!
